Every answer is paired with the real Scripture verse and a short commentary. Quiet repetition is how the Word stays with you.
What you'll explore
Kerygma covers the canon, the doctrine that grew from it, and the church that lived it.
Scripture itself — the books, the people, the moments. From Genesis and the Psalms to the Gospels, Paul's letters, and Revelation.
Twelve categories
What Christians believe and why. The Ten Commandments, the sacraments, eschatology, apologetics, and more.
Six categories
The church through the ages. The early Fathers, the Reformation, saints and martyrs, holidays, and biblical geography.
Six categories
Everything inside
Three streams. Twelve in Scripture. Six in Doctrine. Six in History. Scroll through each one.
From Genesis to Revelation
Doctrine, sacraments, eschatology
From the early Fathers to today
Every question cites its source. Every answer comes with a short commentary.
Four ways to play
Solo, with the people next to you, with the room down the hall — or built around any topic you choose.
01
Just you and Scripture.
Open the app, pick a topic, and run a round at your own pace. The verse and a short commentary land after every answer.
02
Pass-and-play, two to eight.
One phone, taking turns, scores tracked for everyone in the room. Made for family devotionals, road trips, and small groups.
03
A room for everyone, anywhere.
Host a room, share the link, and play with friends, classes, or your whole congregation. Same questions, individual phones, shared leaderboard.
04
Your topic. Your verse. Your round.
Type any topic, verse, book, or theme — Kerygma builds the round around it. Made for sermons, study groups, or that one chapter you keep coming back to.
How a round works
From picking a topic to playing with your whole group — three steps, no friction.
01
Choose a category from the twenty-four, or type any verse, book, or theme into Custom mode.
02
Tap your answer, and the actual verse opens with a short commentary tying it back to the question. Quiet repetition is how it sticks.
03
Host a room with a five-character code. Friends or your whole congregation join from their own phones — same questions, shared leaderboard.
A note from the maker
I built Kerygma over six months because I wanted a quiet way to spend a few minutes a day with Scripture — not another habit-tracker, not a streak machine, not something engineered for engagement. Just questions, the verse, and a short commentary. If it turns out to be useful to you, that's all I hoped for.

Common questions
No tracking, no ads, no third-party analytics. Solo and Together rounds stay on your device. Multiplayer rooms keep names and scores briefly so the leaderboard works, then they're cleared.
Yes — Apple rates Kerygma 4+. Difficulty has three tiers, so younger players can stay on Acquainted (familiar stories, clear answers) while everyone else takes harder rounds.
Seven days, every feature, no credit card required up front. You won't be charged unless you choose to subscribe before the trial ends.
Anytime, from your Apple Subscriptions settings. Your access stays active through the end of the period you've already paid for.
Yes — same app, with a layout built for the larger screen. Landscape and portrait both supported.
Multiplayer mode hosts a room with a five-character code. Everyone joins from their own phone, plays the same questions in sync, and shares one leaderboard with per-question review.
The verses that appear with each answer are pulled from the English Standard Version (ESV). The questions themselves are AI-generated based on the canonical text and aren't translation-specific.
Most Bible apps are reading apps. Kerygma is a study tool — every round leaves you with a verse open in front of you and a short commentary. There are no ads, no streak guilt, no daily-verse cards, no liturgical calendar. The whole product does one thing: trivia rounds that pull you back into the actual text.
No. Not now and not planned. The subscription is the only revenue model — that's the entire business and it's deliberate. No banner ads, no sponsored questions, no in-app upsells beyond the subscription itself.
Question generation requires an internet connection because each question is freshly written by AI in real time. Once a round has loaded, you can complete it offline. Multiplayer rounds need everyone connected.
Apple rates Kerygma 4+, the most family-friendly tier. The Acquainted difficulty is suitable for elementary-age children; Conversant fits middle-schoolers and adults working at narrative grasp; Profound is written for adults with biblical literacy. There's no inappropriate content at any difficulty.
