Why 2 Peter matters
Peter's last letter — written when "the putting off of my body will be soon" (1:14). The book's most-quoted passage is 3:8–9: "with the Lord one day is as a thousand years… the Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you." The delay of Christ's return is mercy, not failure.
